I introduce: No ERP for Me inspired by Goldshire and Elwynn Forest and Not your Average DK on the right. I have been wanting to do a DK color since it came out, but I didn't want to be tooo trendy.

So I have been knitting up a storm since I am going to the Sock Summit. I'll post about that tomorrow maybe, I have so many updates to put on the site.

If you are in the Club, go here.

If you just want the yarn, go here.

Time Flies!

Has it really been two weeks since my last post? It seems like just yesterday!

Well Stitches South was a great show and I had a good time, but I brought A LOT of stock and so I had quite a bit left over. As you can see I brought the Cherry Tree Hill Semi Solids to the show and they are gorgeous! I had some left over, and all of the colors are up on my website. Cherry Tree Hill is hosting a design contest and the top prize is $1,000 and the payout goes to fourth place.

Since I carry needles and patterns at the shows, I though I would put them up on my website as well, I have the HiyaHiya 9" circular sock needles and I have the Square Needles from Kollage Yarn. They are both pretty darn cool, if you have never heard of them or tried them you might want to get with the times (I mean um... check them out)!

I will be receiving back the dyed yarn from the show tomorrow and I will be putting up all of the colors as soon as I photograph them. For some reason going to Atlanta made me feel... floral. I always think of the the Southern Belle sterotype and Georgia peaches so I didn't fight it. Spring is my favorite time of year and I love tulips and daffodils so you will see a lot of "flower" influences in my work. I enjoy allwoing seasonal things creep into my work.

As far as cool discounts, I offered a show special on a modified version of the Simply Supersock sweater by Sally Melvile.

It comes in a 34", 37.5", 41", and 44". The first 2 sizes uses 4 skeins, and the 41" uses 5 skeins and the largest size uses 6 skeins. I will be putting a kit up on my site for $75 for the smallest two sizes, $100 for the 41" and $125 for the largest size.

For those of you looking for the Short Sleeve Directions:

Short Sleeves – With Larger needles and using the cable cast on method CO 87 (89,96,106) sts. Knit 7 rows. Purl 1 row ( WS row). Next Row (RS row) K5 (6,4,3) work Garter Vine pattern end K 5 (6,3,3) st. Continue in pattern keeping first and last stitches in stockinette, until sleeve measures 1.5”. Follow Sleeve Cap directions for longer sleeve.

The regular sweater is a 3/4 length sweater and was shown in Cherry Tree Hill's Java.

"March" Colors

So I have the new Wow colors.

This time I took inspiration from The Blood Elves as a Race and my favorite class the Warlock. Adam and I went around and around about what colors are Warlock. I have an undead warlock, so to me, Warlocks are green and purple and blue. I though about putting in some pink for like soul shards, but couldn't bring myself to do another colorway with green and pink (Long Ears and Marshy). Plus I wanted another more subtle color. I used two different purples in this colorway, and I am not sure people will be able to tell immediately. I am hoping this will add depth to the colorway so knitted things will be more elegant, at least that is my intent. So Affliction Anyone? is on the the left and The Other Elf Race is on the right.

The Other Race, (the other WoW color of the month) is based on the preview that I must of watched 100 times before the new races came out. It had a lot of read and gold and pink in it. The colorway also sports some light yellow and grey to kind of highlight the pink and terra cotta and break it up a little.

If you are in the club, go here.
If you just want it, go here.

Lastly, I have some other colors to poke around with, Budding Iris which was a test run for my warlock color way and I didn't think it was "serious" enough and then a colorway I dyed yesterday called Lichen.

Back! WoW Colors!

Arizona is beautiful. I am going to try and move to the Prescott area I think when Adam leaves for Iraq. If you want to read more about my adventures, go to www.cherryyarn.typepad.com-- Cheryl has all the pictures and stories up.

Back to yarn. I am cleaning up all the back orders, and have come up with my next two WoW colors the first is Affliction Anyone? and the second will be The Other Elf Race. I had a lot of time to think about it in the loooonnnnnggggg drive through Nevada.

Anyways, today I am prepping for Stitches South and I am really excited to go. I will put up a coupon for 10% off at Stitches South and if you bring it to me you will be just rewarded.

:)
See ya later.

Married!

(Note: I put this same note up on my homepage)

Hello Everyone!

Adam and I were married this weekend. I am have been reorganizing and getting some more help with the Indie Dyer so order will go out faster and we will just be more efficient.

I am going to take about a week to do some family stuff in hot sunny Arizona. The other half of that dye order will be in the 26th, so as soon as it gets in all dye orders will ship. I haven't forgotten about you I am just waiting on the dye to arrive.

"February" Colors

Hello All

I finally have completed the new February WoW colors. They took me a long time because both areas are complex and there are a lot of colors to draw from in each area. For the Ungoro Crater color I tried to balance between blues and greens and wrestled with how much black and or orange to put in the different colorways. How much green did I really want? The problem with bright green is that it is BRIGHT. I love it, but I am trying to cater to everyone here, it doesn't do me a lot of good to have a bunch of yarn that just I am in love with. I think I struck that chord with the Terra Cotta color I used. I really think that color added a nice touch with out being too orange or too brown.

Then Zangermarsh, omg sooo much blue, fuchsia, and purple. I wanted to get away from tons of blue and purple, I really like the area on the west side where you get the Sporegar rep (or how ever you spell it it!). I liked the touches of light pink. I am not really a pink person myself, but small doses it can be okay.

So here are the pictures of the two colors:

I think next I am going to do a Tanaris color maybe. I had some ideas. I am going to play around with a paladin and warrior color and see if I like the results....

Photo Montage

OK here are all of the photos I have been promising you. I finally broke down and attempted to photograph stuff.

Here is my current project- the Diagonal Wrap. I am using a combination of CTH colors and my own colors and choose Teal as my solid. I am not great at big things, but I am working diligently to complete it in time for the show.

I am pretty happy with the way it has turned our so far.

Next is the "Ideal Sweater" that Debbie and I have been working on. It is entirely knit in the round with cables where the seam would go. I dyed two special colors for it: the Body color is called Morning Rose and the outside color is Bluebell.

Last but not least I have the gloves that I am making for Rae. They are called the Rachu's Illusion Gloves. I am going to make the other one and write up the pattern. Once I do that I will be looking for some people to test knit the pattern.
I rarely write up patterns that I do, because I am so hodge podge. Anyways here are the pix.

Something Old, Something New

Hello Everyone-

So in light of Adam going to Iraq we have decided to do an impromptu wedding on the 21st. It was just going to be a courthouse wedding with just the two of us, but instead it has morphed into a small wedding with 20 family members. Some how this non wedding where we weren't doing any planning or anything special, has morphed into this real wedding with planning and things. How does that happen?

Adam and I were in the car the other night and discussing how to manage all the people, reservations and stuff and suddenly it hit us. This is turning into a "thing." We laughed about it. Such is life huh?

So it has been really cold here and I am sick with some kind of flu and dreading going out into the coldish dye room to dye the yarn and samples I owe. I am going to bundle up and truck out there after sleeping the day away today. I am excited about the colors I have been thinking about the past couple of days and wish that I had more dye. Once Adam heads to Iraq I will probably try to move somewhere warmer. I know people love it here, but I require more sunshine.

I sold so much dye at Stitches West that when I came home I had less then half of what I came out with! I had just brought a fresh dye order to the show. It's a good sign. Unfortunately my supplier is saying dye orders are going to be delayed 3 weeks. Sigh. I hate waiting and I hate making people wait.

So I am headed to Stitches South and I am pretty excited, I am always working on booth redesigns and I have some cool idea for the next booth. Some day I will look back at the indie dyer booth evolutions and laugh I am sure.

I have a bunch of pictures to put up so I will take some shots of my new Sweater designed by Debbie O'Neil. Thanks to everyone who volunteered for test knitting, I really appreciate it.

Talk to you Soon!

Stitches and More Stitches!

Hello All!

I know I haven't written in a bit, been pretty busy.
I wanted to Thank everyone who came by and said Hi at Stitches West. It was a great show I had a great location and I am so happy I got to meet everyone. I sold a lot of yarn so thank you to everyone for helping to make this show a success for me.

In other notes: I am hoping to ALL back orders out this week. So, if you have anything on back order with me from before last week, it will go out this week. Yay!

Also I have decided to go to Stitches South. So all you Southies can expect to see me there. I am going to start offering more pattern support and thus I am looking for some test knitters. So if you are an a good even knitter who follows patterns well and can meet the deadline for April 15th or 20th please let me know. I am going to be paying people to do it, just please email me indiedyer at gmail dot com or info at indiedyer dot com.

On a slightly more sad note. When I came home from Stitches we found out that Adam has been stop lossed and is going to have to go back to Iraq. We are both pretty sad. Meanwhile he is going to see if he can make Stitches South. So hopefully we will both be there.

I will post again later with good pictures of new stuff!

I am news!

Hey check out this great blog that Josie from Nerdabout New York wrote: http://blogs.discovery.com/nerdabout_new_york/2009/02/yarnz-in-the-key-of-wow.html

I am doing A LOT OF dyeing getting ready for Stitches West. I see that someone thinks they are crafty and commandeered the blog..... He has been playing a lot of priate video games lately.

:) I will post more interesting stuff later. Through the Loop's has done an amazing mitten pattern with my yarn and I just love her work. I have dyed some more yarn for that pattern and I hopefully will get it up soon. Getting good pictures is like pulling teeth.... so hard ...

I'kk get a picture of that together as well.

HA HA

HAHA!! Finally I have stolen the spotlight. Myna fell asleep while knitting and left her blog logged in.

Lucky me! Now I get to talk about MY colorway, Freebooters Anon. Last time I dyed one it got swept under the table till I got to the show.

It was called Gargoyle sunrise.

‘Course soon as I got there it sold out.

We have a bet going that my colorway will sell better than hers. So in order to do that, I’m putting up a picture of how my color knits up.

The first 6 rows are garter stitch, then 6 of stockinette and in the middle is a little pattern of simple yarn-overs and K2Tog’s. I’m really excited about it because while Gargoyle sunrise had a tendency to stripe Freebooters definitely hasn’t in either of the things I’ve knitted with it. Oh, the second thing isn’t done yet but it’s a mitten.

So yeah, please help me get out of laundry duty for all of February and order Freebooters over her color. :D

P.S. Don’t tell her about this post, she might get mad and lock me in a closet.

6:30 on Saturday

Hello all!

I am up and looking at the latest thing from CTH: all the worsted and bulky that everyone order. I also found out that my dye order has finally shipped. Guess I placed a big order. I don't know how they are mailing it, so no tracking number. :(

Other then that I am in a good mood. I have a bunch of yarns to dye. A bunch of fun colors to play with a sample for Debbie O'Neil, I am so very excited to see my new patterns. My WoW colors are going really well. I am just busy busy busy.

I am going to update my price list in the next week or so and change the price on the DVD. I am going to be starting with cotton dyeing next and need to get set up so I am prepared for the millions of questions people are going to ask me.

I will write another update soon.

Here is some EYE Candy for you :) Adam and I kept a skein of some of our yarns, So we wound it into balls:

NEW WOW COLORS for January

Hello

I know these about 5 days later then I said they would be. Both Adam and I contributed colors this time. Although Adam met the deadline, I couldn't seem to get my color "perfect" despite dying at least 4 samples. Thus I will extend the ordering time frame 5 days.

With out further ado:
On the left we have Where my Beaches at?(inspired by the northeeast beaches of Azshara) and Freebooters Anonymous on the right. Freebooter's Anonymous was the color Adam came up with :).

For those of you still waiting on your December colors, I actually ran out of some yarns, they should be in today or tomorrow and then be out in the mail. I had such a huge response to last month's colors which tickled me pink. I am hoping to have all my orders over a week old out by today. I am sorry for the delays, but things are picking up which is always so exciting. I appreciate your order immensely and hope you will bear with me through this small growing pain. :)

I'll post the color on my shopping cart and Rav, later today.

TNNA

I flew down to sunny San Diego for TNNA, it was wonderful. SOOOO very Sunny! I am getting all my pictures in order so I can post something more picture-y. Ryan from CTH took some great fashion show photos.

I know what the next WoW colors are, Adam made one this time and I absolutely love it!
He calls it Freebooter's Anonymous and then my color is Where My Beaches at? I will have the new colors up tomorrow.

:) Things are hopping around this place. I barely have a second to sit down and write.

See you tomorrow!

WoW for "December"

Hello All--

My two new colors came out gorgeously way better then I expected, I dyed the first sample set in Select yarns. Currently I am getting a really good deal on the Select yarns and I will post the new prices when I put up the order forms. I need to wait for a break in the rain to get a good photo, so bear with me, the pictures are on the way.

The two colors this month are Thump Ba-Dump which is Kodo inspired, and Long Ears which is Night Elf inspired. The Long Ears has been a hard one to really get right. I have at least 3 different samples of it and none of them turned out quite right. When I went to dye it this time I had it all planned out and last minute changed all the colors I was going to use. I think some of my blues could have been brighter, but I will wait to see until it is totally dry. I am absolutely psyched for this round. The colors are so different when you dye them. They look almost too simplistic, too crayola. When I first saw the Thump Ba-Dump, I was really worried it turned out too dark. Now that it is almost dry both Adam and are totally in love with it. I am glad I held off on the freak out and waited to "redye" it. It turned out nice.

Hopefully the colors will be up by tomorrow afternoon. They are almost dry.

Sock Club Changes

After experimenting with the dyeing for the sock club Adam and I have decided on a new system for getting all the sock club colors dyed and out to you.

We will announce the color and show samples on the 20th and everyone can get their order in by the 30th. I will dye them and get them shipped out on the 5th. Any orders after that date will make the following month’s orders. I am spending too much time mixing sets for the same colors again and again, and I don’t want people to have to wait for their yarn so much.

So for December’s colors, I will put them up today and if you could have your orders in by the 15th, I will get them out by the 20th, then I will post January’s colors.

For those of you who signed up with November’s colors, (Firey and Frost Bitten), your club will be officially up in April, but I will probably be doing colors into July (I think I have enough ideas) at least.

I have had a bunch of requests for a “regular” sock club. I am going to try something new for a “sock club”. Once people sign up for a 6 month club, I am going to email my “sock club” members their special discount code each month. I will dye between 2-4 colors a month and you can use your discount through the website on any of the yarn that month.

Since I only plan on dyeing the colors only in my most popular sock yarns, I understand that people will probably want it in more bases. I will mark one color each month that will take orders for other bases and will ship it out with my WoW colors.

This might seem a bit complicated, however, this gives everybody a chance a color they really like, in a yarn they actually wanted. This plan utilizes the way I dye best, and gives you the cool spur of the moment colors.

This plan is pay as you go, so each month you will purchase your sock yarn.

If you want to be a part of the club just an email to info@indiedyer.com
